Obituary:Lloyd E. “Poik” Anderson of Lindstrom died Friday morning July 6th at Fairview Lakes Medical Center at the age of 80
Poik was born February 14, 1932 in Lindstrom to Frank Erick and Laura Anderson. He graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School (ChiHi) in 1950. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. He attended barber school and joined brother Kenny in the barber business in 1955. Poik married Lois Swanson on August 26, 1961. He enjoyed a long career as a Lindstrom barber, retiring in 2011. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and recently a fixture in local coffee shops. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and involved with the VFW and various veterans organizations. Poik was very proud of his role in helping create the Chisago county All Veterans Memorial. He was well-known and well-liked in the Chisago Lakes Area for his entire 80 years.
Poik was preceded in death by his parents brothers Donald and Kenneth; and sister Elaine Rydeen. He is survived by wife Lois, son Eric (Stacia), daughter Wendy (Nate) Wetzel, grandchildren Cole & William Anderson, Laura & Hannah Wetzel, sisters Lorna Lundell, Mavis Gilfillan, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Family will greet friends 4 to 7 PM Sunday, July 8th at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Also one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.
Service: Memorial service 11 AM Monday, July 9th at the First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom.
Cemetery: Private interment Methodist Cemetery. |
