Obituary:Douglas L. Tidd, age 65 from North Branch passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. After long hard fought battles with so many serious health issues spanning more years than he wanted to count, he is now walking pain free and peacefully with his God.
Doug married his wife Bev in 1965 in Milaca. They were blessed with 46 years together. He was extremely proud of his two sons, Robert and John. Through the years he worked as a salesman in Minnesota and Wisconsin, a deputy sheriff in Chisago County, and a business owner operating the Branch Café in North Branch and Tank and Tackle in Rush City. Always an avid hunter he enjoyed living in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He passed on his passion and love of hunting to many but especially enjoyed the hunting seasons with his sons, family and friends. In more recent years he was very active in UFFDA (United Foundation for Disabled Arches) through which his hunting passion continued. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycles, going up north to the lake and most of all his grandchildren.
Rest in peace now Doug. Thank you for showing all of us perseverance in the face of difficulties, how to find joy and fulfillment in our passions and making the most with the time and with what we are given. May God be holding you in the palm of his hand.
Doug is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons and their wives, Robert and Cheryl Tidd and John and Laura Tidd; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Spencer, Katie, Colby, Kyle, Jamai, Robert and Emily; his sister, Janis Christians, his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Mary Tidd and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Ardis (Bemis) Tidd.
