Obituary:Miron, Yvonne M. “Bunny” (nee Nadeau), age 89 of Center City, died on August 4, 2012
She was born to William and Josephine Nadeau on June 8th, 1923 and was raised on a farm in Centerville, MN. Her family spoke only French when she and her siblings went off to school. She graduated from high school (St. Joseph’s Acadamy) in Crookston, MN at the age of 16 and had difficulty finding a job because she was “too young”. She was later employed as a nurses aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital and as a mail clerk at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul.
She married Thomas Miron on May 17th, 1947 at St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church in Centerville. Their farming career began in the Centerville/Hugo area. They expanded their acreage when moving to Center City in 1968. They raised 12 children, including two sets of twins. The birth’s of all her children never interfered much with her farming responsibilities since she returned to cow-milking the day she returned from the hospital.
Bunny’s passions were her Catholic faith, family and friends. Throughout her life, she especially enjoyed the giving and receiving of hugs – long, comforting hugs. She loved her farm life, working in the fields, milking the cows and caring for her animals. She was known to have saved many a baby chicken, kitty ot pig by frequently feeding them throughout the night with a medicine dropper of milk and by keeping them warm in a blanketed box near the heat of the kitchen stove.
She also had a special talent for letter writing. She often saved greeting card messages and newspaper/magazine clippings that expressed her thoughts and feelings. She would then send the words she found most meaningful or encouraging, to others on their special occasions. She would send prayers and cards of sympathy to church and community members whom she had never met because she understood and felt their loss.
She was a very caring mother who always wanted the best for her children. Her greatest burdens in life were not the physical labors she endured but the heavy crosses she bore with the loss of three of her sons. May they be there to greet her in paradise.
