Obituary:Pearl L. Conger, age 96 of North Branch died on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Ecumen of North Branch. Pearl was born on April 20, 1916 in Allenville, Wisconsin to George and Flora Smith. She attended Allenville and Oshkosh Schools. She married Edwin Conger on September 11, 1935.
As a young girl she was active in the youth group of the Community Baptist Church in Allenville acting in plays the church minister wrote and staged for the young people. She began sewing her own clothing at a very young age and her skill as a seamstress continued throughout her life. She sewed for her daughters and their families. She also did alterations for Adrian’s Men’s Store and sewed skirts and berets for the marching unit of the North Branch Girl Scouts. Pearl enjoyed reading. She was active in the North Branch Wormen’s Civic Club, Eastern Star, VFW Auxillary and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aide. She and Ed loved to travel and made numerous trips throughout the United States and took a trip to Cuba in the late forties. After Ed’s death Pearl continued to travel with her family to Hawaii, the British Isles, Norway and many other countries in Europe.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin; brothers Herbert, Elward and Raymond; sisters, Ariel and Hazel; son-in-law Gordon Sederberg and great grandson, Joshua Sederberg.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Sharon (John) Peterson of North Branch and Diane (Ronald) Barsness of North Branch; eight grandchildren; Vicki (Donald) Borowick, Gregory (Vicki) Barsness, Grant (Kari) Perrin, Michelle (Jeffrey) Egelkraut, Robert (Dana) Sederberg, Troy Sederberg and Andrea (John) Grehan; 22 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Smith, Pat Smith and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother Pearl will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation: Visitation 5-7 pm Monday at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch & one hour prior to the service at church.
Service: Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch.
Cemetery: Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch. |
