Name: Jerda A. Klund Dates: Birth date: June 27, 1909 Death date: August 2, 2012 Obituary: Jerda A. Klund, age 103 of North Branch died on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Ecumen North Branch. Jerda was born on June 27, 1909 at Fargo, North Dakota to parents, Edward and Alma (Anderson) Hallberg. She attended Fairmount, North Dakota schools where she graduated. She married Malcolm Klund in 1928 at Duluth, Minnesota. She moved to the North Branch area in 1943 when Malcolm took a job as manager of the creamery. Jerda was a homemaker her whole life. She loved knitting, sewing, crocheting, flowers, baking, church activities, family and faith. She was a member of the North Branch United Methodist Church since 1943. She is survived by her daughters, Myrtle Larson of Brooklyn Center, Arita Humble of Fridley, Pat (Roger) Nelson of North Branch and Nancy Gustafson of Coon Rapids; sons, Curt (Delores) Klund of North Branch and John (Sue) Klund of Ramsey; her 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm in 1958; sisters, Ida and Mary; brother, Edward; three son in laws, Weldon Humble, Elof Larson and William Gustafson. Memorials: Memorials preferred to North Branch United Methodist Church. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at the North Branch United Methodist Church. Cemetery: Oak Hill Cemetery at North Branch. |
