Name: Melvin E. Stevenson Dates: Birth date: May 18, 1934 Death date: July 21, 2012 Obituary: Melvin E. Stevenson, age 78 of Princeton formerly of Stacy died on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton. Melvin was born on May 18, 1934 and raised on a farm near Stacy. Melvin took over running the farm when he was 16 years old. He enjoyed the outdoor’s, he loved to fish, hunt, gopher trap and garden. When he wasn’t outside you could catch him playing a game of rummy! Melvin is survived by his wife LaVonne; children, Carla (Dan) Chesbrough, Aaron (Anna) Stevenson, Brittany Stevenson (boyfriend Kyle), David Stevenson and Edward Stevenson. Eight grandchildren, mother in law and longtime care giver, Phyllys Hargarten, foster son Larry Snipes and many other loved ones. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles, mother, Ellen, brother, Bud, sisters, Dorothy, Ethel and Lois and granddaughter Kitiara Marie. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Service: Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church in Stacy. Cemetery: Private family interment at later date. |
