Name: Michael R. Matson Dates: Birth date: March 31, 1939 Death date: June 29, 2012 Obituary: Michael R. Matson, age 73 of Lindstrom died on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming. Michael was born on March 31, 1939 in St. Paul to parents Roy and Veronica (Mullen) Matson. He attended schools in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School. Michael worked as a manager for the St. Paul Book and Stationary Co. for many years and later worked in managing Mobile Home Businesses. His love though was collecting and selling antiques. He was an avid collector and picker throughout his life. He also enjoyed the road trips he spent with his son, Lee as well as spending time with his grandchildren. Michael loved watching old movies. He was a longtime member of the Minnesota Street Rod Assoc. Michael is survived by his three sons, Lee (Misty) Matson of Duluth; Tim Matson of Arden Hills and Nels (Jenny) Matson of Forest Lake; his six grandchildren; sisters, Judy Evans of Ft. Worth, TX and Wendy (Jeff) Walega of Bessemer City, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Veronica. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Visitation: Memorial visitation 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Cemetery: Private family interment at New Home Cemetery at Eureka, Wisconsin. |
